Flarum doesn't seem to be able to fuzzy input Capitalization in language code.
Currently, the international standards are as follows (for details, please click here).
- language, all lower case, usually two digits, three digits for the new version of the specification, such as:
zh
, en
.
- extlang, all lower case, three digits, which indicates the extended language, such as Cantonese
yue
.
- script, with a capital letter and four digits, indicates a variant, such as Chinese traditional character
Hant
and simplified Chinese character Hans
.
- region, all uppercase, two digits, indicating that it is used in regions, for example:
zh-TW
, zh-HK
all are traditional Chinese, but the customary terms in Hong Kong are different from those in Taiwan.

The problem is that there are some locale files that come with the plugin, which use zh-hans
lowercase file names. If the installed language pack (using the correct capitalization code zh-Hans
) does not have the locale file for the extension, Flarum will not read the zh-hans
file that comes with the plugin. So the front desk to display the default English translation.
