Pedrotelhado93 hi. You can replace the translations using the Linguist extension. Simply search for "start a discussion" or another text and replace it with what you want.
To create additional buttons or change their behavior, you'll need an extension. The FoF Links extension lets you add links to the main menu at the top. To add links underneath the "new discussion" button you'd need to create your own extension.
