In my community a lot of new registrated users do not activate their account with the email link. When I checked in the database, only around 40% do activate their account. Most of the users have a gmail email address, so I thought that the mail is blocked or moved into the spam folder. I tested with a new account and the mail did go straight into the inbox (SPF and DMARC are ok).
According to the usernames and emails almost every user is real (topic of our community is Anime and Comics). So these are most likely no bots.
What are your experiences? What percentage is activating their accounts?
Do you have any idea what the problem could be?
