Option to upload a thumbnail image for each post. Mostly for social media sites to use but it could make forum post also a bit more modern.

BigMinnie This could be done via an extension, it's unlikely to make it to core and for certain won't be there before stable.

I've been thinking about trying to write an extension to extract a thumbnail image from the first post in a discussion (if an image is present). Does anyone now off-hand which component needs to be extended to do this?

So did anyone manage to make extension like that? I share tons of stuff on social media that my users post, but usual they don't throw image in it and I need the edit their post and they don't really like that (sadly there is no silent edit option or a option to give edit reason). A option to upload/set preview image would be really great and I would not even need it to be visible, just so that seo could use it for facebook and twitter.
