Help me choose a color scheme

I have pretty much settled on the blue background, and spent 5 minutes on the logo. Which logo color do you think works best with the blue background?

green solid
green with white outline
orange blend solid
orange blend with white outline
red solid
red with white outline

I like the white outlines, gives it a better contrast. As for specific color, green or red.

I don't thing any of them work. It seems you're going for a flat design. Take a look at some examples of flat design. Also make sure you use tints or shades of the background or another flat color. Or else it looks odd. Also, outlines and gradients are a no-go in flat design, so avoid them like the plague. Here's some examples.

When it comes to your STBC, I'd say make it the same font as the rest of the text, make it larger and overlay some simple treads over the letters with a color slightly darker than the text itself.

Also where it says "Single Track BC" you should spell it out completely so it reads "Single Track British Columbia"

Davis I was not going for a flat design at all. Well, not intentionally!

The blue background (HEX: 0099CC) is the default background color of a Ghost theme I installed -- I really like it and want to keep it.

I quickly created a logo and then used a color calculator (http://www.sessions.edu/color-calculator) to find some complementary contrasty colors for the logo against the blue background.

I will experiment with a darker outline (instead of white), but I have no idea how to do things like overlay treads, etc., as I simply used an online logo maker. Nor do I have any interest in diving into a graphics editor, as this forum is more of a fun project than anything else.

Would you still spell out BC in full if the domain is http://singletrackbc.ca ?

ron_jeremy I would spell it out because when I read it I had a moment where I wondered what BC stood for.

Also, I'd say the orange blend solid looks the best out of all of them.

Davis I made some adjustments (http://104.131.149.147/), and will look into the logo later today. Is it a bad move SEO-wise to blank the blog title field? Right now I cleared the title field and only have the logo, but am not sure if that is a good idea or not.

Basically, in Ghost's admin setup, I erased the text field ("Single Track BC") where you'd enter the title of the website, but left the website description.

ron_jeremy Leave it in, and hide it via CSS - this can be done in such a way that the title is invisible, but still accessible to e.g. screen readers and search engines.
