Mobile Avatar Upload Issues

Has anyone else encountered issues with updating avatars (profile images) in flarum on mobile?

I've spent almost a month crawling github looking for help on this, to no avail.

Adding a profile image works just fine on all desktop browsers, but then on mobile it won't upload at all. It's just stuck. The weird part is that if you test it in development mode on desktop with the ios user agent, it works! No errors at all.

Someone please help me before I rip out all my hair. Thank you!

We've had regular reports of issues with mobile avatar upload in the past, I see we still have this one open on GitHub flarum/core1128

Any help in troubleshooting the actual cause is welcome! Re-reading on the issue it seems the issue couldn't be reproduced reliably, which prevented an effective debugging of the underlying problem.

Thanks for the reply! I'll keep chipping away at it. It looks like the newest beta release resolved an avatars issue for Edge. Maybe it will solve this problem as well?

If anyone else discovers something, please let me know.

Update. Just updated my phone to the latest iOS 13.4.1 (was running 13.3.1). Everything works as expected.

Update your phones folks.

johnlewissims which browser were/are you using on iOS? Could be WebKit sorcery that was patched in the latest iOS updates!
