I hadn't been to a particular website in days and when I opened the site and went to the "Discussions" tab I was surprised to see this big banner of FLARUM presented and it said to "Update Flarum" and to enter "Database Password". I did so, clicked on "Update Flarum" and it came back with "Something went wrong: Incorrect database password". What is going on? Why won't it let me in? What do I need to do?

This happens when your flarum installation is updated so that database changes can be applied. You need to enter the correct password for the database your using. Please note that this is NOT your flarum admin account password.

I don't have a flarum installation and as far as I know I do not need a flarum installation. My understanding is the website I was trying to logon to has the flarum installation and I was just trying to get in to the "Discussions" tab. I am not trying to update any database! The password I was using is the password I have set up with the website. What do I need to do???

9V1MI Are you the website owner / administrator? If so, you do need to enter the database password to complete the flarum upgrade. If not, the admin has decided to upgrade their flarum installation to the newest version, but hasn't finished their installation. In that case, you should reach out to them.

I am not the website owner/administrator. The website has had enough time, I think, to install and upgrade Flarum, about a week now. I can not reach out to them because that is done through their "Discussions" tab and Flarum stands in the way. I'll see if there is a way to e-mail the website, but I think that is going to be futile. How to resolve this???

9V1MI only the forum owner can finish the upgrade. There's nothing you can do except trying to get in touch with them via other communication solutions.
