Tags 3rd, 4th levels...... are hidden?

I migrated successfully to flarum! Only have to fix some details. In my previous forum had a 4th level category. On Flarum imported and shows currently the four tags but they doesn't appear in my tag list on my admin panel. They are HIDDEN tags?

teletubbie Flarum only supports two levels of tag nesting.

If you manually inserted tags that go deeper, the graphical interface won't cope with it correctly.

If you want to implement deeper nesting on your forum, you might want to take a look at this PR flarum/tags67 I don't know how ready to use it is, and we haven't decided yet whether to integrate this into Flarum itself.

I just realize these "hidden" tags appears on mysite.com/tags below of main tags. So they are secondary I guess.
But they don't appear on my admin panel as secondary tags
it seems a bug

teletubbie Please check in your database whether you have indeed imported more than 2 levels of primary tags. The code assumes it's not possible to have more than 2 levels. Different parts of the interface could react to unexpected situations in different ways. We can't really call this a bug as it's an unsupported data structure.

If there's a bug with a correct data structure, please let us know how to reproduce so we can investigate 😃

In my old forum I have a 5 levels tags.
I just go to the flarum table of the tags and I see columns parent_id and position. But that info don't help, right?

By the way I see the column discussion_count is zero for all the tags. But in my forum I see various discussions with tags. It seems a bug, right?

teletubbie discussion_count should be set by yourself during your import process. It will automatically be updated by Flarum after you create or delete a discussion under that tag.

Regarding your tag levels you have two solutions:

You change your forum tag structure to match the two-level requirements of Flarum
Or, you create a Flarum extension that enables more levels of nested tag, possibly based on the PR I linked above

Ok. but.... the secondary tags doesn't appear on the admin tag editor. So you mean go to database and delete rows. It do you think it can broke the site?

well, it's already broken no ? 😅

If you can easily re-run your import, I'd suggest to fix the structure in the old software, then import again.

If there's no way to go back, you will unfortunately need to edit directly in the database. You could set all parent relationships to NULL, that way all tags will appear in the Flarum editor and you can move them at will.

Keep in mind that moving tags in the Flarum editor won't change which tags are applied to your discussions. So if you're completely reworking the structure, your existing discussions will likely have tags that don't match the new structure.

Can you let us know which forum software you're migrating from and which tool you used to perform the migration ? This might help us to give advice.

Thanks so much. Good idea.
But I just see, right now appears on my admin panel. It is odd. I was playing too much with the setting, extensions, so maybe I did something and right now appears.

I migrated from xenforo 2.x with https://discuss.flarum.org/d/5506-mybb-to-flarum like so:
xenforo 2.x -> mybb -> flarum

Anyway, I really hope in the next beta release flarum remove the limitation of not being able to create categories/tags with more levels because if we need to create OS->OSX->CATALINA flarum right now limits us. Thanks
