Scarwolf I restored your original post and edited out the duplication in your second post.
Users aren't asked to confirm deletion because it's a soft delete ... you can undelete the post by clicking the ellipsis button in the lower right corner and selecting the Restore command.
As for your issue ... I can sort of understand why you might not be permitted to change the group settings for the admin user. The main reason for having groups is to allow fine control of permissions ... and since an admin by definition has permission to do anything, he or she doesn't really need to be in any other groups.
But the fact that you can't change any other settings makes me wonder if something else isn't going on. Are you able to change the email address or password?
