"Cant Start Discussion"

I had a new user sign up and say he couldn't start a discussion and he sent me this screenshot:

He was not sure how to start a discussion and I asked if they activated their account by clicking the email that was sent for activation. He did that and it went away. Should this button be more intuitive?

I was thinking if someone is logged in but hasn't activated their account yet, it should still say "start a discussion" and when they click it, it should pop something up that says check your email to activate your account.

Thoughts?

MikeJones inconveniently the screenshot doesn't show whether the unconfirmed user banner was visible to the user:

While it doesn't explicitly tell the account isn't activated, it sure should give a hint to the user.

Now if the banner was not visible to the user, that would be a bug.

I can ask but year his screenshot cut off the top lol, sorry.

I think it would be cool to have another check on the "Start a discussion" That would full-on dummy-proof it.

I guess this concerns me because I have been having a lot of people sign up for my flarum but not a whole lot of people post.
