how to change in core file

i want to edit in core file(reply composer.js file) but change is not reflected can any one help me how to compile js file again

What are you trying to change? I would highly recommend making an extension, or using your forum's extend.php file instead.

eg:

==>
return <div className="PostStream-item test1" {...attrs}>{content} testcontent</div>;

and i rebuild this webpack, but page nothing show. (public file not change?)

i want change repeat post style. like:

All replies are below this postStream, not create new postStream.

DAIXK editing files in vendor is not a supported way to extend Flarum, so we can't offer help with that.

You should create a new extension and use the extend()/override() javascript helpers to extend the components.

If you need help with that, please open a new discussion under the Dev tag so we can best assist you. The OP of this discussion might be having a completely different problem from you.

But I have some problems:

Edit the composer.json of Flarum in the docroot and add under require the following done
and composer update.
composer.json look like node package.json but nginx index path is public/index.php
i think maybe need run build and then update public.
is there a way like Vue:
npm run dev ==> i can watch the change
npm run build ==> update static file

i don't know extension's js file working principle.
it's a webpack project,i try change emoji extension's js file and rebuild this webpack,but page nothing show,
maybe need change nginx config?

DAIXK while that guide still gives good general advice, be careful because it's very outdated. It was written in beta 5 time when gulp and bootstrap.php were still a thing. These have changed.

but it not tell me need edit composer.json

then you can mkdir workbench then you can develop your extension😃
i check flagrow/ads File Directory.
finally i success develop my extension demo.

DAIXK I believe what you're asking is described on the "Getting started" page https://flarum.org/docs/extend/start.html

We use Composer commands to modify the root composer.json instead of editing it by hand, but otherwise it achieves the same in regard to creating a workbench folder and installing the local extension.

Let us know if you find other things missing from the documentation!

In order for your extension's JavaScript to be loaded into the frontend, we need to tell Flarum where to find it. We can do this using the Frontend extender's js method. Add it to your extension's extend.php file:

DAIXK the extend.php file at the root of Flarum is basically a local extension. If you're developing your own extension, you don't need to add anything to that root file that's outside your extension folder.

That root file is there as a convenience for those who wish to make local changes to their forum without creating an extension, it can do everything an extension can do.

In the documentation/tutorial the extend.php that's referred to is the one that's part of your own extension.
