Forum's Time

Hello,
This might sound like a silly question, but where I can check and set the forum's time (manually change the time, selecting time zone etc.)?

Have you tried changing the server time on the server that your forum is running on?

I don't think there are any actual settings? On the server side, Carbon is used in default timezone (which I suppose is always UTC), and in the frontend the javascript shows the data in the browser local time.

What I said in my older message clarkwinkelmann is still valid, the Flarum frontend always displays dates in the browser's local time, no matter what the server timezone or the timezone of the dates returned by the REST API are.

The timezone of the REST API shouldn't matter since the ISO date format includes the timezone and any client can parse the date without the need for a specific timezone.

I already set up my server timing, but flarum still using Global one Please help me regarding this

Hello, I have a similar issue, what we can do in the flarum end if we can't change the server time zone? Because I also have other web pages in different time zones and server is using the UTC time zone.

aydinknowz after changing servers (operating system) time, discoussion times not change. May be you can edit manually old discussions time with Author Change extension.

I even changed the server time and restarted everything, still, time doesn't show correctly in flarum discussions which is frustrating. Could you please tell me in which core file I can edit the time zone?

clarkwinkelmann Thank you for the suggestions I don't have any issue with my OS or browser's time zone. I checked with my android phone, windows desktop and MacBook also in different browsers, all showed the timezone incorrectly. When I post something it says the discussion started 3 hours ago.

@HasanMerkit as I explained above, the issue is the current time and also from the past as well. So using extensions to change past discussions wouldn't matter. There is something wrong that needs to be fixed or I'm doing something wrong I'm not so sure. I have WordPress websites on the same server I also checked with other scripts there are no issues at all except this flarum.

I fixed it. The server was showing incorrect UTC time. Had to start NTP synchronization in SSH.

yum install ntp

sudo ntpd -gq

sudo timedatectl set-timezone Europe/Istanbul
