Twitter Auth error/button error

Hi,

I seem to have a problem with my twitter sign up plugin.

The Twitter button says flarum-auth-twitter.forum instead of it saying login with Twitter.

Also when I click on the button I get the following message with a white screen - An error occurred while trying to load this page.

JAC hi. First problem is probably just a cache issue. You can click "Clear cache" in the admin panel under "Tools" or use php flarum cache:clear on the command line.

For the second error, can you try getting the full error message? It's is a Flarum error, look in <flarum>/storage/logs. If it's an Apache/Nginx error, look in your system logs.

The first error is fixed, thanks.

The second isn't, I have checked all the logs and cannot see anything about this, errors etc.

It does go to Twitter as if it's working and then that's when it comes back with the "An error occurred while trying to load this page." error.

JAC Make sure you have the URL callback set correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have now changed the callback URL and the button when clicked doesn't do anything. I've cleared the Cache but it remains inactive.

what should the callback be? I have it set as - https://mydomain/forum/login/callback

So I have my forum at Domain.com/forum

Do I need to add the /forum into the call back or do I just need to use the root domain example of domain.com?

Thanks. Just tried that and it brings up the error again of

"An error occurred while trying to load this page." It let me get further to the part where I had to click authorise this app. And then went onto white screen.

Can anyone take a look for me please? 😖

Can you provide an error log?

Hi,

I have checked the error logs and there is no error of such kind showing.

I've also got in touch with support who say

"Thanks for getting in touch. If an error is outputted by your script, all errors will show in the same error log section.

If your site doesn't output a 500 error, it won't show here."

So basically it does go to Twitter and then I get the error, maybe the callback is still wrong. I'm using https and my forum is at domain.com/forum for example.

So I have set the call back to be https://mydomain/forum/auth/twitter so I can't see why this isn't working.

JAC try enabling debug mode via config php, that should give you the error

No joy at all with this. I have changed this in the config file but I still don't see any error.

Can someone have a look at all if I give login details?

JAC Fixed via Discord. The reason as to why this failed was that your site is forcing HTTPS, but the OAUTH callback is using HTTP where there is no listener.

tforum the callback URL in the Twitter app was set to use HTTP when it should have been HTTPS
