Permission denied (500)

Hey guys, I'm having some issues with permissions in my Flarum. At first I had a message saying that the full version of the community couldn't be loaded, and some JS files were inaccessible. I figured it was an issue with permissions, tried running the common commands that were being mentioned here, and now my server is down (500 internal server error). How do I fix this?

Edit: Fixed by temporarily applying 777 permissions to folders, then returning it back to 775.

danielunited maybe you ran a Composer or Flarum command with another user (for example, ran as root by mistake). This would have the effect of changing the ownership of all the files and breaking the permissions when going back to the expected shell user.

You can usually check the ownership of the files in a directly with ls -lA
