Site is extremely slow and clearing cache results in 500

As the title says, my community is loading extremely slowing and running php flarum cache:clear results in this error: https://discuss.flarum.org/d/19235-argument-1-passed-to-must-be-an-instance-of/5

I think there may be a permission error going on, but not sure exactly what it is or how to fix it.

A bit about my setup: I'm running a Bitnami LAMP (PHP) instance on AWS Lightsail. It comes with Google PageSpeed modules. I'm using Cloudflare as well (Flexible SSL) with no SSL certificate on the server.

So seems like it was slow just for me... might be an issue with an extension I have. So just the php flarum cache:clear issue remains. Any ideas on how to fix it?

danielunited what extensions have you recently installed / modified? Could you try removing those and seeing if the situation improves?

askvortsov Ok so these permission errors occur when installing new extensions. I get this after installing new extensions:

then I need to delete formatter + cache folders, create them, set permissions to 777 and it's fixed.

I think it's because I'm installing packages from bitnami user. How do I create the right kind of user (with lower permissions) and set it as the owner? Will that fix the issue?

Bitnami is a docker image provider. I'm assuming your run your forum with one such image? What I assume needs doing is running composer actions as the bitnami user and also run cache:clear as that user.

m4v3rick I ended up moving from Bitnami to Debian.
The Bitnami setup was causing some issues with permissions, and I didn't quite know how to fix it.

danielunited Are you in the Flarum Discord channel? I'm really interested in your permission issues, because at the moment Bitnami works fine for me. Private discussions doesn't seem to work in this forum.
