Help in installation

when i pasted the command line of installation. this message appears.

[InvalidArgumentException]
Project directory ./ is not empty.

Make sure the directory you try to install to is empty.

luceos it is empty there are no files in my public html directory
the code that i copied from docs is
composer create-project flarum/flarum . --stability=beta

how can i delete them but safe deleting?
Note: i use ssh access in shared hosting by Putty program.

AhmedShiboub can you share the output? There's no way to say whether the files are safe to delete without knowing what they are.

Depending on what the files are, this could be a question for your hosting manager. Can you tell us which hosting company that is?

i deleted files by comand rm
then flarum is installed
but if i want to use my site i should go to public folder why?
mysite.net/flarum/public

AhmedShiboub as per our installation instructions you should set the public folder as the DocumentRoot of your website.

If you're unable to do that, another option is to use https://docs.flarum.org/install.html#customizing-paths

It's best to do that before installing Flarum. If you have already installed Flarum, you'll also need to update your config.php with the new URL.
