404 error after install

Hello all, After a successful installation of flarum on a local server, my next step was to install it on a VPS running Ubuntu 18.04. I could finish the installation procedure to the main flarum page. But when I try to login, the response is: The requested resource was not found. Debug tells: 404 Not found, POST http://myserver/login. Also other functions lead to this. E.g. click on 'All discussions' gives: 404 Not Found GET http://myserver/api/discussions?include=user%2ClastPostedUser%2CfirstPost%2Ctags&&.
Some extra information:

Webserver is Apache
Flarum is installed in /var/www/html/flarum/
.htaccess is available in ./flarum/public/
modrewrite is enabled
000-default.conf includes 'DocumentRoot /var/www/html/flarum/public'
flarum.conf includes 'DocumentRoot /var/www/html/flarum/public'
flarum.conf also includes '<Directory /var/www/html/flarum/public>'

It looks like a rewrite issue but I didn't manage to solve it up to now. Any help is appreciated.

henkschaap Did you enable rewrite using sudo a2enmod rewrite ? After enabling this, you need to restart Apache2

Also, check to ensure that you have Allow all and Require all granted in your config

[deleted] Yes, rewrite was enabled with sudo a2enmod rewrite . Apache was restarted. Allow all and Require all granted are present in flarum.config.

[deleted] Aaaghh, the problem was caused by /etc/apache2/sites-available/000-default.conf. After disabling with sudo a2dissite 000-default.conf everything works as it should!
