Moving host gone a bit wrong

Hey, so I've got my original files and database backed up from my previous host.

I've tried creating a new default install but I always seem to have an issue with chmodding/chowning. Flarum will just consistently complain about file permissions

I've run the following inside the directory and nothing has changed:

[root@f brand-new-titanlabs-flarum]# chown -R nginx .
[root@f brand-new-titanlabs-flarum]# chmod 0775 -R public/assets
[root@f brand-new-titanlabs-flarum]# chmod 0775 -R storage
[root@f brand-new-titanlabs-flarum]# chmod 0775 -R .
[root@f brand-new-titanlabs-flarum]#

ZakShearman you will need to know as what user your site runs and use chown to change ownership of your site files. Using chmod in most scenarios is a hack for failing to set up file ownership properly. Chmodding to openly (7 ranges) can lead to serious security vulnerabilities because any other process on the server will be able to write to your site..

The user running the site should be nginx and I've tried running chown for this so I'm unsure why it's either not working still.

Please view the configuration file of nginx to check its running group.
It may be in /etc/nginx/

Or use tools such as htop to view the users who are running nginx.

user nginx; That's why I'm confused coz I'm using the nginx user.

ZakShearman What user is the PHP-FPM socket running as? Depending on the OS it may be www-data which would cause Nginx to be able to read the files but not PHP causing the issue that your seeing.

Pretty sure I set it to nginx as well, was set the apache by default.

From /etc/php-fpm.d/www.conf:

user = nginx
group = nginx

Can you share the output of ls -la in the Flarum directory so we can see what the current permissions are?
