TaLHa4203 the admin can specify the default from the admin area settings modal of the extension, the user can set some preferences in their settings page and they can toggle the mode from the profile dropdown.

Not sure what the question is here, so trying to cover them all 😉

I changed $event->add('fofNightMode', 'boolval', false); to $event->add('fofNightMode', 'boolval', true); in Preferences.php on line 27 and it worked.

TaLHa4203 Changing the code of the extension is not a good idea unless you make a fork. The default mode should be selectable in the extension's settings in the latest version.
