Warstek more than likely this is caused by the callback url being incorrect. Check the client_id in Discord, and make sure that the callback url is https://{YOUR_FORUM_URL}/auth/discord

Warstek invalid_client is most likely an issue with the client ID (and potentially secret). Make sure there are no spaces before or after the value in Flarum, and recheck the values themselves to make sure the OAuth credentials are correct.

This is exactly what you should try.

You probably don't have to update to PHP 8 right now, but this is recommended since older versions are out of support already. You might not be able to get the latest release of this extension on older PHP versions anymore.

I have Flarum installed on a Shared Host, I use Cpanel, through the Terminal I have been able to install everything. From the Cpanel in the "MultiPHP Manager" section I have been able to see that I have version of PHP 8.1, because as I see, the problem is that I do not have updated PHP. Which seems strange to me since it says that I have version 7.4.33, and from "MultiPHP Manager" I have 8.1

Any ideas?

Apparently you use a current version of PHP. Although when I try to install "FriendsOfFlarum" it gives me that error that I don't have it updated.

I've seen this many times with hosting that offers multiple PHP versions. It is always down to the way composer finds the PHP binary.

Although you have multiple PHP versions available, I wouldn't mind betting that PHP 7.4 is the shared host default.

To overcome this, and to make sure composer uses the correct PHP binary, you may have to prefix the composer call with the PHP binary path, for example:

/etc/php/php81 composer install ..........

Also, ensure that you are using a minimum of composer 2.2 - composer -V to check. I think the latest is 2.6

@kaitou1412 this should fix the issue you were facing on PHP 7.x. If possible, please consider upgrading your PHP version when possible, as although Flarum techinically supports PHP 7.3+, it is becoming harder to maintain compatibility now as well as supporting newer versions. See the Official PHP.net supported versions for more information 🙂
