I am not sure, I understand what you meant by "applications" in this context but I think building a custom extension might best suit your needs.
Meanwhile, also check out clarkwinkelmann's Formulaire, the premium form builder.
I don't know what you really want, perhaps you can read those extension documentation or explain what you want to achieve a little bit more.

Formulaire can be used as a "wizard" of some sort for new discussions. See "Automatically create discussions from form submission" under https://kilowhat.net/flarum/extensions/formulaire#form-options The same feature might also come to profiles later on. But I'm not sure whether it's really the same as the Discourse plugin.

Formulaire also provides standalone forms that can serve any purpose. They work similarly to Google Forms. There's a video on the extension's discussion showing some of those features.

ItsMrReals Masquerade and Mason are two free extensions which add profile fields and discussion fields respectively.

Formulaire is the only extension providing standalone forms for Flarum as far as I know. There is no free version.
