Disable "Users" result in search

Hello,

Is there a way to disable the "Users" section of search? When I type a search query it tries to match user (or display) names.

In my case this is uncomfortable. My users are automatically created by my SaaS, and having all account names searchable is not great.

I suspect others may want to disable this to prevent harassment of vulnerable users.

I don't see anything in the admin panel. And a quick web search revealed nothing.

Is there a plugin that does this?

If not, can someone point me in the right direction for writing a plugin that does this? What would I need to hook into and how would I change that behavior? I'm well versed in (legacy) PHP, I just need to know the right Flarum bits.

teleclimber You can actually accomplish this by setting the View User List permission to only those groups you want to search members.

Note that this will also, currently, break mentions like @teleclimber or direct reply like teleclimber, because those use the same search interface and would be vulnerable to the concerns you have.

There was a bug pre-Beta 14 that would cause issues with profile links, too, but I believe that's been fixed.

jordanjay29 Thanks for the lightning quick reply. I missed that setting in the permissions list. This will work for me for now. I will disable at-mentions as well for similar reasons. In my case it's not a big loss.
