Nicknames Regular Expressions

Let the nicknames extension regular expression ideas commence! I'll start, but if you use something different reply with yours and explain what it does.

~~^\\p{L}*$~~

Allows only letters for pretty much any language (I think and hope).

EDIT: This doesn't work after all. If anyone has a working regular expression for the new Nicknames extension please post it here.

010101 you would be correct, important note for anyone playing with regex, you do not need the / around your regex. We've done that for you automatically.

Further, if no regex is provided anything is allowed.

I was mistaken. I've tried multiple regular expressions and I can't get them to work. I tried with and without / around them. My permissions allow regular users to change their nickname. If anyone has a working regular expression (which allows any letter but no numbers and can handle at least some special letters such as letters with accents) for the new Nicknames extension please post it here. The last one I tried is this one: https://davidwalsh.name/letters-regex

I'm also not sure if it needs a PHP regex or JavaScript regex. I've tried both flavors.

010101 This will do the trick ^[^0-9]+$

010101 The following regex will allow any letter character from UTF-8 to be used as well as underscores and dashes but not numbers. ([\p{L}-_]+)

For clarity regex is PHP format, and things like the global modifier or case sensitive modifier are not needed. Only the part between the two / characters are required.

SychO I believe this would be any number and no letters.
