Deactivating replies

I want to post some community rules, privacy policy, terms & conditions type of content under the "Announcements" tag/category on my forum. The reason I am doing it this way is because, I don't know to create specific pages for them and link them in the footer. So, anyway, my question is - after I post my long content, how do I deactivate any comments/replies on such posts?

mventures you could use FoF/pages and FoF/links. This way you could create your page content minus the comments of course, then use the links extension to populate your navigation menu. I do the same at https://metabullet.com

Why don't you just lock these discussions? As an admin you will even be able to add further posts to locked topics.

Pollux I was thinking of exactly doing this, but couldn't figure out how to lock a discussion. Still figuring it out. I am sure I am looking at the wrong place.

Click on the little arrow next to the Reply button.

That's an out of the box functionality of the Links extension. Just drag one of your created links over another one and it becomes a sub-link, thereby turning the parent link into a menu item.
