watchmedash I think 512 is enough, however depending on your site, you may need to increase it. According to the staff here, discuss.flarum.org was running on 512 for the longest time until a DDoS attack.
I have my site set to 7xx for now, when it grows, I will have to increase that number.

Please could you add support for FriendsOfFlarum/default-user-preferences

Specifically, I'd like the "Composer" toggles within the user settings to be supported so that I can toggle those default settings on user registration. Currently the "Don't separate paragraphs with newline." is ON, which on my site is quite frustrating.

Php memory limit and VPS (server) limit are two different things.

Discuss ran on a server limit of 512mb for a long time yeah. But it has always ran with a php memory limit of 512MB, even now. Don't go higher, that's not necessary.

Please consider merging this, it was so annoying to me.
