Beta.16 discussion composer input delay

After Flarum 0.1.0-beta16 (RC1) fresh installation (with only compatibile extensions), I noticed that text composer on mobile devices has very slow response on keyboard inputs, so many of characters are skipped while typing fast. It happens only on mobile device. Has anyone encountered the same?

askvortsov just checked - when Markdown extension is disabled I can write with no problems. What can I do since I lost almost all icons/formatters in text composer 😅

Just tested - I experienced the same delay and skipped characters...

Edit: I'm on android, using GBoard keyboard

ryanwang did you find any solution? I saw today that there is a new version of flarum / markdown (v0.1.0-beta.16.1), installed it, but input delay is still there and I also consider it a major "problem" for oridinary users (mostly from mobile devices).

[deleted] The new version doesn't fix anything; that depends on the upstream MDArea. It does have an admin setting for disabling mdarea; that should temporarily alleviate the issue.

I confirm, when MarDown is on, there is a delay in write from the mobile phone browser. I also use Chrome browser and GBoard keyboard. Rich text solves the problem only if it is worth clicking on the brush icon and turning on the preview in real time.

Paran0lik update to v0.1.0-beta.16.1 and disable mdarea in settings. When mdarea is fixed we'll let everyone know that it's safe to reenable.

Devs, is this fixed in 1.0? Or, will we need to keep mdarea off?

010101 this was fixed in the sense that mdarea was completely removed for the time being 😇
