Flarum as Learning Management System (LMS)

I am an educator and I see Flarum as a potential Learning Management System (LMS) with specific extension and addons...

I do not know how to code or develop extensions, but I am sure this could be a great Flarum upgrade (group can be class, user is a student, tags can be organized as a syllabus/curriculum etc.). Multimedia content can easily be embeded and shared. So it already has a lot of features that are required for educational platforms.

[deleted] Flarum can be much and is very flexible. You can restrict tags to do a lot. I am not sure what your requirements for a LMS system are. So it's a bit hard to give you feedback on what's possible and what would need additional plugins.

If you want quality feedback I'd suggest that you post your requirements for an LMS system - ideally marking what you think is not possible with the standalone Flarum installation 🙂

[deleted] Flarum revolves around extensibility and customizability, if one has the coding skills and knowledge of the inner workings of the software, they can do a lot with Flarum 😃

[deleted] A few months ago I was talking about this with the IT manager of a university in my area, he was impressed by its lightness and speed, for him it was like another world compared to the current systems they are using and that had weighed them down a lot during the pandemic, with the brutal increase in the use of the platform.

I think Flarum has great potential in this sense and no doubt there would be many education organisations interested in something like this and it is something that could help Flarum's funding, however such an extension would probably be too big for a single developer to do, I imagine it would require a group of developers.
Who knows in the future what might happen....

I had the same experience and that was one of the reasons why I started this topic. I think that this is a great opportunity for developers (COVID accelerated digitalisation of education system).
