luceos Yes, I mean the "Author change" extension, it should update the count since author had been changed

My discussions counter also does not match the actual number of discussions (3 vs 4), so this does not look like unusual situation. Maybe Flarum should have some option to recalculate these numbers?

Littlegolden yes but the FriendsOfFlarum user has discussions/posts assigned by modifying the database directly. This is not caused by that extension you mention, because it wasn't used.

@rob006 and Golden, if this is an issue with core or an extensions feel free to report it respectively. This topic will be about the FriendsOfFlarum user and it's counts.

The discussion or post count being off can be caused by multiple reasons:

The database was manually edited and no new posts/discussions have been created by the user yet (that's what happened here). The count will automatically fix itself next time the FoF account posts.
An extension manually changed some values without triggering the required events. That's what previously happened with the Fake Data extension for example.
An error happened during posting, after the post was created, but before Flarum updated the totals. This will fix itself on the next reply. This is usually noticeable because of the "Oops" messages and the server logs.

Additional note: my own Author Change extension does recalculates the totals. But that extension is not used on this forum.

I think you could also just hide+restore a post for it to happen.
