Flarum comes with the Tags extension for categorization our of the box. Primary and secondary tags can be created from the extension's page in the admin panel.

Flarum primary tags act as categories. That's what we use here for categories like Support, Extensions, Meta, ...

You can drag and drop tags from primary to secondary, and you can configure how many of each can be set on any discussion.

FreeFlarum must have the Tags extension installed & enabled by default.
