Hey there all!
Who?: We're looking to bring on a Flarum developer or two who can help create hooks in the Flarum source code to make templating easier for the entire platform, as well as more reliable aesthetic consistency between updates. We would hope to make this work broadly available and for potential inclusion into core, if considered useful.
Why?: We're long-time forum industry professionals with an extensive background in both Community Management and Product for forum platforms. We paid close attention when industry trends shifted from vBulletin to XenForo and other alternatives, and understand that a big part of broad community administrator adoption of a platform is based not only on extensibility of the platform (how accommodating it is with add-ons and expanded feature functionality) but also how granular customization of the aesthetic happens to be with theming. To be able to bring to bear the full strength of our abilities in forum development and skinning with Flarum (not to mention the community-at-large,) serving template changes in a consistent and repeatable way is part of the critical path for traction. We feel this may also help open up the platform to the cottage industry of custom theme development that buffeted vBulletin, XenForo, and other forum platforms to success.
What?: The main objective of this contract is the inclusion of hooks in various anchor points across the existing template infrastructure.
If this is something you'd be open to helping us accomplish, please reply below, let us know how to reach you, and we'll reach out to go over rates/hours and more details.
Thanks!
