I hope everyone one is safe, I want to share what's happening here in IND, govt is filling to supply oxygen, medicine and vaccine.
5 weeks ago my uncle (my friend wife's: father) got corona. initially, we faced a huge shortage of oxygen, and no beds are available, no ventilator supported beds .. all are fulled. somehow we managed to admit to the hospital. Daily we used to pay 25k INR (500 USD) per day for hospital expenses and there is an injection called remdisver it mostly acts as an antidote for covid to fight against virus and it's in no stock, it supposed to be 10 USD per shot and patients need 6shots initially. almost 60 USD but due to the shortage we are supposed to pay almost 500 USD per shot .. 6 vitals will cost 2.5 lack rupees (3500 USD) in total.
If the patient has managed and survives with all these expenses, if he gets cured he will end up in paying 13,000 USD
Health insurance companies will not cover most of the covid cases.
And in my uncle's case, he got this issue called a black fungus. Initially, it started in the eye he lost vision in his left eye and the doctors don't have any idea about it so we had to move him to HYD 150km to a big hospital and the transport itself costs 500 USD. After reaching we had to find the empty bed in the hospital to search for the bed it took almost 9 hours. For every one hour ambulance charged 100 USD in total 500+900 = 1400 USD.
Since he got fungus a week ago, the fungus got spread and infected the eye nerves which connects to the brain. doctors had to remove the eye to stop the spread.
Now to fight back against the fungus we need 250 vitals of "Liposomal Amphotericin B" & each one will cost 100 USD and daily we need to give 3 shots for 8weeks at least in total it would cost 25,000 USD. Due to the shortage, they are selling each vital double the price (in black - back door) for 200 USD each, which would cost 50,000 USD in total.
The fungus also infected in the brain, they've done brain surgery today.
Govt is completely failed. In addition, they did huge political and devotional gatherings even when covid is spreading. They would have postponed the elections.
We are expecting this situation will be for the next 3-5months.
If someone has the same situation from a poor family they have no option other than dying.
All medicare and ambulance services, medicine supposed to be free in India but it's not functioning.
70% of cases are unreported. Govt is hiding the actual death & covid data.
Whoever tries to make a news story about the facts they are put in prison saying speeding false news against govt.
Even Twitter is removing tweets. Banning user accounts.
Nature also doing its contribution, recently most of the parts of India hit by a cyclone.
