Just another way of accessing the Wordpress data really, instead of using REST though it uses GraphQL (a API query language similar to the way SQL works for databases)

This same developer also is working on what I guess is a whole separate standalone cms/website builder that uses the same concepts but doesn’t involve WordPress. 🤷‍♂️

It’s always interesting finding these types of projects.
