Would like to know if anyone is planning an extension to give the option for Admin approval for registrations. Have used this method for the last few years and have found it to be the most effective method for preventing spam.
Would see this with an alert for admins and/or mods (perhaps a separate permission as to which groups can approve registrations) and in the administration area a page, somehwat along the lines that has been done for the Guardian extension, with registrations listed, the email address used and IP address linked say to http://whatismyipaddress.com to give the general region along with an approval/denia button etc as examples.
I realise this can be a bit time consuming but for the type of communities I've run, and with the help of mods, it's not to onerous. Thoughts?
