First Post as top post » one post to rule them all (extension)

It would be really good if someone made an extension
that would put first post as sticky - on top.

This would come in handy when topic has certain rules
that users should follow, or certain special info, but not only
then, usually it is pretty much essential to read first post of thread
to see what's it all about, instead of just replying with the flow.

ameo Stickies currently are shown at the top until you have read them, then they are treated as regular threads. Users that are not logged in will see stickies at the top.

I think OP is requesting the first post stickied within a discussion.

jordanjay29 In that case, if a user has never read a discussion before, they will start on the first post so they will see the rules before the discussion.

Davis Yes, but this is a separate request for something I've seen (as a mod or feature) on other forum softwares. Consider how Flarum works, it only allows single-click access (earliest unread post since your last discussion visit) to discussions, and doesn't offer a first-post link once you've read it once. This would allow sites to keep that first post visible as a reminder to participants.

It can be a useful feature. I'd love to see this extension happen.

How would this work on mobile? What if the post is so long that it would take up most/all of the screen?

Could it be minimized for mobile? Like the post box, only at the top of the screen as First Post or Discussion Starter that can be expanded as necessary?
