How to make primary child tag become required?

Hi Devs
I want to force my user to create a discussion under 1 primary tag and 1 its child.
Do you have any suggestions to achieve this guys?
I've read the local extenders and I still didn't have any clue how to achieve this at this time.

leotj This can be partially achieved through Tag Settings.

Make sure you require at least 1 Secondary Tag, the nested (child) tag will fulfill that requirement.

However, other secondary tags that are not nested will also fulfill this requirement. So this largely depends on your tag structure, if you use no Secondary tags without nesting them under a Primary tag then this solution will work cleanly for you.

I got it @jordanjay29 But, if I don't want to show the secondary tags to my user, what the approach I can use?

leotj Do you mean the secondary tags that are not nested?

If you don't want normal users to use them at all, you can restrict them in the Permissions tab by clicking Restrict by Tag and only allowing Start Discussion requirements to admins (or any other group you want to use those tags). You can also simply move all tags in the Secondary Tags column over to the Primary Tags column and nest them where appropriate.

jordanjay29 I don't know why, after restrict by tag and only allowing Start Discussion requirements to admin, my user become can't start a discussion and got error "You don't have permission to do that"
Do you know why this happened?
This is my current primary and secondary tag structure.

- CHILD_PRIMARY_A
PRIMARY_B
- CHILD_PRIMARY_B
SECONDARY_A (my secondary tag, not nested, listed on Secondary Tags Field on Tags Extension)

jordanjay29 UI Design is my primary tag, and Ngobrol is the child. Secondary tag is my secondary tag.

leotj It looks like your users should be able to start discussions on any tag except secondary-tag. Is this what you want?

Users who can't start discussions on secondary tag is normal. They may see a 'Can't Start Discussions' button on that tag when they view it, but viewing any other tag should give them the normal 'Start Discussion' button.

To achieve that terms, I set minimum Required Number of Secondary Tags to 1 right?
But I don't know why, after I set minimum Required Number of Secondary Tags to 1, when I start discussion on 1 primary tag and 1 primary tag child, I got "You don't have permission to do that" message.

leotj I tried to replicate this on the demo site.. I structured the tags like you have and gave them the same permissions.

You can try it on the demo site as well if you like. The only tag that I can't start a discussion in is Secondary_Tag_A, following the permissions you created for it.
