Installing Akismet and a few questions

How do I install the Akismet extension? There doesn't seem to be a dedicated page as with other extensions listing the actual command and compatibility. At least I couldn't find one, only a GitHub page where that information is also missing.

If I install this extension and register for a plan with Akismet, are all posts going to be sent to Akismet? Will that slow down posting? Can it be configured to send only posts from new users or for the first N posts or something like that?

If you add trusted users to a group that you assign permission to bypass Akismet, their posts will not be checked.

I am using this on a forum and the spam detection works pretty well.
