I just want to say I’m proud of myself. With my BBCode button extension (even if it’s not the greatest feature) I finally “get” certain things about building extensions.

I still might not be able to make complex extensions. But, for a self-taught hobby code fiddler who doesn’t code daily or even weekly, this is a major milestone for me. 😎

Flarum is the best forum software but also, it allows beginner coders the chance to learn. Maybe even more easily than creating WordPress plugins.

Pat on your back too for not giving up. Part of development is facing that feeling of "Oh shit I don't know how this works, I am incompetent" being followed by "Oh, that makes so much sense, now I get it" and this pattern just continues. The better you understand a tech the easier it gets, but it never gets so easy that you can just sit back 😉
