Will the team think about the function of special language search?

More and more people choose flarum as the BBS solution. The problem is that the default code does not support special language search, such as Chinese / Japanese / Korean.

I know that there are some workarounds, such as modifying the MySQL configuration file ( my.cnf), or you must use root permission to install docker, but for some webmasters who have just started, this is a mission impossible.

Because they don't have much money to buy dedicated servers or VPS with root access, most web hosts or virtual servers can't provide such access right.

So, if possible, could you see it as a new feature in the next version?

I don't remember exactly where this was talked about. But if this relates to a MySQL configuration change it's usually not the fault of the software but the server configuration. Where was that discussion again because we definitely want Flarum to be easy to use and install even for utf 8 character sets?

I think that our system does support UTF-8 search (at least it seems to work with French, Dutch, etc. when I was testing things) but for some reason MySQL has a very hard time with CJK searches and I honestly don't know why. It does look like changing our full text search parser may help though, but we'll need to see how it interacts with other languages and if it's even feasible as a migration for existing forums since it's dropping and re-creating an index.
