Flarum is a very robust and fast forum software. However, what I have noticed is that images uploaded by users are in the original format captured by the user and thus very large in size, making pages with much images to take longer to load.
Suggestions such as manually compressing and resizing images has been suggested but then these are too tedious for less tech-savvy people and is time consuming.
An extension that can compress images as they are uploaded would be an excellent addition to flarum. WordPress and other forum software have plug-ins doing this.
The compression can be made as a schedule job so that it does not impact on posting time.
What do you think? Anyone interested in making this a reality?
