The point of this post: Let’s all post about Flarum when we can at our sites. Every extra link back helps.

I realized that although I’ve talked about Flarum at my blog which is also a Flarum instance, I’ve never outright explained to potential visitors that the site they are looking at is Flarum.

I wouldn't use Flarum for a blog, but to each their own. You should change your secondary colour though because the dark green is quite ugly on the dark theme IMO. You'll find that writing a theme for a modern blogging CMS like Ghost or Grav will be a lot easier than theming forum software Flarum included.

Valeyard Green is my favorite color. It’s my personal blog and I love the uniqueness and quirkiness of the dark green when it’s in dark mode! 🙂 My goal for my personal blog is not to please others, but to be unique. Hence using Flarum as a blog, being green, and even choices like a hot pink tag for one category, and bright green for another is on purpose yet a little shocking. 😲

I’ve used blogging platforms like the ones you mentioned before. I currently use a traditional blogging platform at another website I manage.

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised if someone critiques it since I shared it, but I honestly didn’t share this to showcase my site (hence no showcase tag) or for a critique. I just wanted to share that I do my little part to promote Flarum when I can.

Well I mean it's your choice if you want to use forum software for blogging as I said to each their own, I just think it's a strange choice.

See I don't get you there. To "look unique" you need to put in the work to make it have a theme that looks totally different to stock Flarum, and as people become more familiar with Flarum-based forums it will look very much like the stock theme (similar to stock Discourse). You can also achieve unique and beautiful at the same time, don't have to be a choice over one or the other. 😉

In any case would suggest you make a few small changes - e.g. your search box placeholder text is still "Search Forum"! 😲

It’s really simple. It’s my personal site and I want it the way I want it. To me it’s beautiful. To each their own is right. Maybe by “unique” I mean, “questionable subtle design choices.” 🥸

Thanks for your advice though! 🥰 Again this wasn’t posted for comments on the site. It was posted to share that I (and everyone should) try to promote Flarum if/when they can.
