Help fighting spam

Lately a lot of spammers are targeting my forum very hard. I can wake up with 100 spam posts or more. Handling spam is time consuming, specially when they add spam into replies.

How do you fight spam in your forums? What extensions do you use to save time handling spam?

If you using Email verification switch, disabling may be is good idea.

Install fof-subscribe and sent newly registered member to group which this group don't let user to write to anything. This entension also sent notification if a member registered. After than you move new user to another group.
