Installing themes

hey guys, I have my flarum forum installed through softaculous on a shared hosting, I also have access to SSH, I want to install a theme that can only be installed with composer, can I do it if I already installed flarum through softaculous? If yes, what are the steps? thanks

Suiramus you will need to find the directory where flarum is installed in; it will have flarum and composer.json in it. Then you execute the composer command to install an extension, composer require some/extension.

I am new to this so it's still vague to me, I need to take composer.json out of the folder on my desktop and then run it with composer? can you please make it step by step if you have the time.. thanks

well I runned the commands through terminal in cpanel, everything worked fine, seem like everything was loading in config, but nothing has changed, I also received a red text saying forum/config.json is not defined

I solved it myself after learned how to code in PHP for 8 hours today 🤓
