010101 niloc Only “sticky” discussions have the excerpt. You may install the Synopsis extension to get the excerpt on every post.
clarkwinkelmann Also worth noting, natively there's also an excerpt under each discussion when a search is being performed. In that case the excerpt shows the first matched post for the search.
