Restrict users from Participating in discussions

how can i restrict users from participating in discussions if the discussion has a specific tag?

let us say users should not able to reply to discussions in all Meta , Announcements discussions

currently, flarum uses Locking discussions to avoid replying but is there any other way other than this?

in my cases, we have certain tags for example Research tags where researchers exchange knowledge i do not want others to participate in those discussions except admins or mods

Hari Just don't set the "reply to discussion" permission to "members" for that tag

Specific tag, the tag discussion topics may not look pretty afterwards if they continue to pile up, instead you may use the lock feature, and only admin's to participate in specific locked discussion's.
