Question about SSH & Composer

Hello fellow Flarumians

I am a beginner. I was successfully able to install Flarum using composer on my local WAMP install .

Now I want to attempt to install Flarum on my Web Sever. I have shell access on my VPS and was able to login via Putty.

My stupid question is, do I need to install composer on SSH? or can I use use SSH terminal on putty "as is" to run the flarum install commands i.e:

composer create-project flarum/flarum .

One more question Justoverclock what's the best location to install composer on, would this be in your root directory?

Ah understood @Justoverclock. So for beginners reading this 100's of years into the future...
Think of "SSH" as your "mobile device" i.e an iPad and "composer" as an "app" you want to install on your iPad. Isn't learning fun. 😅

The composer documentation explains how to use a global installation directory: https://getcomposer.org/doc/00-intro.md#globally this works best when you manage your own server.

Updated the subject of this discussions as there are no stupid questions. We all started at the same level.

Thank you. @luceos . It feels like the composers documentation is written for coders and not users.
Users are simple minded folks like myself. 😁 In my opinion it uses a lot of jargon.

They could have just said:

Once you install composer into a folder location, you'll be left with a file named "composer.phar". This can be renamed and placed into any directory of your choice. We recommend adding it to your root folder. 😅
