Github Codespaces Beta

I just got added to Github's Codespaces beta. https://docs.github.com/en/codespaces

I remember posting at this forum when I first started to try making a Flarum extension and I was saying that it would be nice if you could more easily code online without a local dev environment. I tried using a very cumbersome set up using Google Cloud tools. I finally gave up and set up a local environment. But now, here comes Github. Unfortunately, I don't have the energy right now to mess with it.

If anyone sets up and successfully builds a Flarum extension using Codespaces, let me know! Oh, and maybe share the basic steps here? Are they exactly the same steps as most local environments? 🤞🙂

Has anyone tried Flarum extension developing in GitHub Codespaces yet? With Codespaces you can quickly load up any repository in a cloud version of VS Code. It looks like you can install mysql and there's an open in browser feature (for previewing/testing). Which means, you have everything you need without having to keep a local environment set up and updated.

I suppose I'll just try it one day. But, I guess I'm asking because I don't want to waste my time if it's not possible. So, if anyone has already tried it let me know if it works and if you have any tips. Thank you!
