Hello, I am planning to start a Flarum regional community in India. I am looking for someone like @Hari who can help me continue the forum since I won't be online much as I live in a boarding college where devices aren't allowed.

And I was also looking for the official page to download press assets like logo designs, etc to help me design my own.

I thought of providing service like free flarum using an India based droplet but it's always a time-consuming process because of SSH. Plesk is a good control panel to manage flarum but installing composer2 on Plesk is a headache and we always need to enter the full path of the composer to run commands. Virtualmin needs at least 4GB ram to perform well.

I don't know how to run websites on plain ubantu it involves a lot of commands and a huge learning process

I don't want to involve in managing servers, I work remotely and I travel a lot so I can't help someone who needs server assistance

Yes, hyderabad, but I want the forum to be English mainly, and options for regional languages like Hindi etc. I can manage the server, but not long, but I expect there shouldn't be any changes anytime soon or at least in the coming months. I would like people like @Hari to engage the community, and not get sick of server management 🤣😂🤪.

I was thinking of a LAMP stack on AWS Linux for the community. And panels like CyberPanel are also an alternative to Plesk which are costly

Of course, thwere are commmands that you have to learn, but running website on Ubuntu from CLI is not that hard........

i feel like starting a different community for each language is not so worthy.. what if discuss.flarum.org allows us to start discussions in a different language and hide those conversations from the latest feed on the community, so managers can follow that tag and address user queries?

I am not interested to join/moderate any regional flarum communities. i wish you all the best bro 🙂

jaikrishna-tavva9 Hi , I'm jishnu From kerala . I don't think that's an good idea . India have more than 20+ languages, so managing such a community will be a headache . I think there is no need of another forum , because all indians know to read and write English then what's the purpose of another one .!

Jishnu The purpose of verified communities is to help people in their own languages, while the majority of a country might know how to read and write English, doesn't mean that their good at it, and it doesn't mean that everyone does. A verified community in their own language is far more inclusive.

tankerkiller125 sorry for the confusion caused . I meant that , it's very difficult to manage a regional community for India in this time . Because while India has 22 separate official languages , it is home to a total of 121 languages and 270 mother tongues.

It's a good thing if we have a regional community , but it tooks a lot of manpower
