CyberGene when i am replying to you flarum leaves a hyperlink to the above post in the HTML source code which needs to be always dofollow
and ugc
(user-generated content) due to many other situations flarum had mentioned it as NoFollow
when a link is mentioned as nofollow spider ignores crawling that link and do not look into that page (aka post)
since this was implemented at the core level it needs to be fixed in the core. like i said earlier there are many other reasons why flarum is doing like that clarkwinkelmann
To bypass this behaviour luceos is modifying the core allowing the feasibility of declaring that tag using an extension.
the advantage of the new extension is using it we can also define the dofollow or nofollow tag ... not just our domain but we also define it for domains too
in general terms .. telling spider hey spider Flarumfoundation.com (this domain can be any) is also ours you can check it 😉
if a hyperlink is marked as NoFollow nothing but we are telling spider "hey i don't know what this link is and i got no relation with them"
if we use noopener
in that hyperlink it is nothing but telling the spider "look, i really don't know what this link is .. and it could have virus too and i got no connection with them .. assume as it is not related to our website and also do not follow that link"
this is widely followed because if there are any links on our website of weapons, drugs, or terrorism spider assumes as our website is promoting that content and ranks our website lower or removes the site from the index.
