I am proud to announce that, going forward, the venerable @SKevo will be leading the FreeFlarum project. I am stepping down on the operational front but will remain committed as adviser and ambassador.
In 2017, I founded FreeFlarum with one mission: people should own their communities again. You should not need a for-profit megacorp to communicate with your friends! Standing on the shoulders of the beautiful Flarum software, this worked rather well. Over 20 thousand communities were created on the FreeFlarum platform and people have written hundreds of thousands of posts over the years. Forums were created around every imaginable topic: from housing to games to politics to curious hobbies. And we can only speculate how many friendships were formed and people have benefited from owning their communities.
Not only that, also dozens of people have contributed ideas and improvements, for which I am immensely grateful. One of the most prolific contributors was Kevo, who invested countless hours to improve the code, help new forum owners and come up with imaginative new features. Kevo has shown a tremendous dedication throughout the years. He is smart, result-driven, has exceptional moral integrity and has shown a passion for helping others. To be honest, FreeFlarum could not wish for a better leader.
I want to thank everybody who has made FreeFlarum such a remarkable success, and I am looking forward to what the future will bring. With confidence!
Bless you all
Sanguine
PS I will still be around, although just spending a little bit more time with my family offline
