Encryption method for password

Hello guys,

I was wondering which encryption method you will be using on Flarum.
I would also like to know if it will be possible to easily switch between two encryption method.
For instance, if I want to link a flarum account with another service I would like to have a simple encryption method (such as MD5) to easily sign in the flarum account on this other service.

Typically it's not a good idea to use encryption for passwords as they use public/private keys to return the encrypted value back to it's original state. A hashing method such as SHA-512 or bcrypt with a salt is a much better approach. Last time I checked, bcrypt was extremely popular but maybe that's changed since I worked with password management.

Flarum uses Laravel's default hashing method, which I believe is bcrypt.

Is it possible to change the password encryption method to simple md5 encryption method ..? If yes then where i need to change .? which file i need to modify ?

I am using any service which is used is in MD5. I am integrating the Flarum to my running service. So if there any possibility to change the password encryption to MD5 then its will be easier to achieve my goal..
